Pori summer camp June 12-15, 2025
The traditional Pori Summer Camp is being held for the 34rd time!
The camp is open to all kendo practitioners. Training is open to people of all levels, including those without a bogu. Come and pick up training tips for the rest of the year with you!

Registration
Register for the camp by 6.6.2024.
Option A (preferable method)
Register/sign-in on Suomisport and check that your information is up-to-date. Also be sure that the license and insurance matters are in order.
Option B (for foreign/”non-FKA” participants. If suitable, please use option A.)
Register by email: info@daikumakenkai.fi and please provide us with at least the following information:
- Full name?
- Adult/junior? (age optional)
- Participation in kendo or sports chanbara exercises?
- Your level or grade?
- Your club?
- Dojo accommodation needed? If yes, which days?
- Participation in grading examinations?
Grading examinations
Kyu and dan grading examinations will be organized at the camp.
Kendo: 6 Kyu – 1 Kyu and 1 Dan – 4 Dan

Register for the grading examinations in Suomisport by 6.6.2024:

Information for dan examination participants who are not members of the Finnish Kendo Association.
Registration for dan-gradings have to be made through your own federation in the European Kendo Federation register. The registration is binding. You can pay the exam application fee through bank transfer with the following information:

The fees are standard European Kendo Federation prices.
For application: 1 Dan € 15,00; 2 Dan € 20,00; 3 Dan € 30,00; 4 Dan € 50,00; 5 Dan € 70,00.
In case of successful examination, registration fee: 1 Dan € 20,00; 2 Dan € 30,00; 3 Dan € 50,00; 4 Dan € 70,00; 5 Dan € 100,00.

Camp fees
Whole camp (Thu-Sun): 80 €
One day only (Fri, Sat, Sun): 35 €
Junior’s guardian (Thu-Sun): 15 € (only if accomodation at PoriDojo)
Participation in the camp is paid during registration on Suomisport. Hall accommodation at PoriDojo is included in the camp price. Meals and Huikee’s activities are at your own expense and are paid for on site.
For foreign visitors: If you can’t use Suomisport for registration/payments, camp fee is paid to the camp office on arrival at the Porin Urheilutalo (Sports Hall). The preferred method of payment is with debit/credit card but cash and Mobilepay is also accepted.
Accommodation
Poridojo, Satakunnankatu 32, 28130 Pori
The camp fees include the possibility of dojo accommodation at Poridojo. There is a fridge and microwave, as well as kettles and coffee makers. Men’s sauna and women’s sauna are available. Be sure to bring your own bedding (e.g. sleeping bag and mattress).

In addition to the hotels, there are about a hundred airbnb accommodations in Pori, about half of which are close to the town center.
Note! There are a lot of other events in Pori area for the camp weekend, so make sure to book your stay in time!

Dining
Pori kendo club does not organize any camp meals and they are not included in the camp fees. However, there are lunch places near the camp site. On Friday and Saturday evenings you can barbeque your own food and snacks at Poridojo and Yyteri.

Yyteri Beach and Adventure Park Huikee on Saturday
On Saturday there will be an active afternoon around Yyteri Beach Resort! In addition to guided sports and step training, it is possible to get acquainted with the diverse sports and outdoor opportunities in the dune area on your own. A barbecue grill is reserved for the evening. (Bring your own food!)
