35th Pori Jazz Kendo Seminar – July 16-19, 2026
The traditional Pori Jazz Kendo Seminar is being held for the 35th time!
The seminar is open to all kendo practitioners. Training is open to people of all levels, including those without a bogu. Come and pick up training tips for the rest of the year with you!
After the seminar gradings will be organised from 6 – 1 Kyu and 1 – 4 Dan.

Registration
Register for the seminar by x.7.2026.
Option A (preferable method)
Register/sign-in on Suomisport and check that your information is up-to-date. Also be sure that the license and insurance matters are in order.

Grading examinations
Kyu and dan grading examinations will be organized at the seminar. (6 – 1 Kyu and 1 – 4 Dan)
Finnish / FKA members
Register for the grading examinations in Suomisport by x.7.2025:

Foreign
Information for dan examination participants who are not members of the Finnish Kendo Association.
Registration for dan-gradings have to be made through your own federation in the European Kendo Federation register. The registration is binding. You can pay the exam application fee through bank transfer with the following information:

The fees are standard European Kendo Federation prices.
For application: 1 Dan € 15,00; 2 Dan € 20,00; 3 Dan € 30,00; 4 Dan € 50,00; 5 Dan € 70,00.
In case of successful examination, registration fee: 1 Dan € 20,00; 2 Dan € 30,00; 3 Dan € 50,00; 4 Dan € 70,00; 5 Dan € 100,00.

Porin Urheilutalo, Kuninkaanhaanaukio 12, Pori
Entrance to Porin Urheilutalo (Pori Sports Hall) from the lower door on the north side. (Not through the main entrance.)
Fees
Whole seminar (Thu-Sun): 80 €
Per day (Fri, Sat or Sun): 35 € / day
Junior’s guardian (Thu-Sun): 15 € (only if accomodation at PoriDojo)
Participation in the seminar is paid during registration on Suomisport. Dojo accommodation at PoriDojo is included in the seminar fee. Meals are at your own expense and not arranged by seminar organisation.
For foreign visitors: If you can’t use Suomisport for registration/payments, seminar fee is to be paid to the office on arrival at the Porin Urheilutalo (Sports Hall). The preferred method of payment is with debit/credit card or Mobilepay/Vipps but cash is also accepted.
Accommodation

The seminar fees include the possibility of dojo accommodation at Poridojo. There is a fridge and microwave, as well as kettles and coffee makers. Men’s sauna and women’s sauna are available. Be sure to bring your own bedding (e.g. sleeping bag and mattress).

In addition to the hotels, there are about a hundred airbnb accommodations in Pori, about half of which are close to the town center.
Note! Hotels in Pori will be full of Pori Jazz Festival visitors, so make sure to book your stay in time!
Dining
Pori Kendo Club does not organise any meals and they are not included in the fees.
